Commercial garage door service in Mount Juliet

The short answer: We service and repair commercial garage doors in Mount Juliet: rolling steel (coiling) doors, commercial sectional doors, and high-speed doors, along with their operators and hardware. If your door is stuck halfway, jammed, or unsafe, do not force it. Call our 24/7 emergency line at (615) 616-0612 and we will diagnose it on site with an upfront price before any work begins.

A commercial door failure is a business problem, not just a building problem. A dock door that will not open holds up deliveries. A door stuck halfway is a security gap. We treat commercial calls with that urgency: we secure the door first, find the actual cause, and price the repair before any work starts. Our scope is honest and narrow: service and repair of existing commercial doors and operators.

The three commercial door types, and what breaks on each

Rolling steel (coiling) doors. Interlocking steel slats wind onto a barrel above the opening, counterbalanced by torsion springs housed inside that barrel, riding in vertical guides on each side. What fails: spring fatigue (the door gets heavier over months, then will not lift at all), slat damage from forklift or vehicle impact, guide misalignment from a glancing hit, and worn chain hoists. A coiling door with a broken spring is dangerous to force: the curtain can drop.

Commercial sectional doors. Heavier, wider versions of the residential sectional door: hinged sections on horizontal track, lifted by torsion springs through cables and drums. What fails: cable fray and breakage, roller and hinge wear under the extra weight, track damage, and operator faults. The diagnostic logic is the same as residential, but every component is rated for higher cycles and heavier loads.

High-speed doors. Fabric or rubber curtains on high-cycle operators, common on loading docks, wash bays, and food or cold-storage openings where the door cycles constantly. What fails: curtain tears, photo-eye and safety-edge faults from the constant cycling, and operator error codes. These doors live or die by their safety devices, so we test every one.

Operators. Manual chain hoists, jackshaft operators (side-mounted, used where ceiling space is tight), and trolley drawbar operators. Limit switches set the open and close positions; safety edges and photo-eyes stop the door on obstruction. When an operator hums but the door does not move, the disconnect is usually the spring or the drive, not the motor. That distinction decides whether you need a spring crew or an operator tech, and we make it on site.

A stuck commercial door: symptom, cause, what we do

Symptom: Door stuck halfway, chain hoist slips or will not move

Likely cause: Broken or slipped torsion spring, curtain jammed in the guides, or worn hoist gears.

What we do: We secure the door first so it cannot drop, then diagnose. Springs get replaced as matched sets; guides get realigned; hoists get rebuilt or replaced.

Symptom: Door slams or free-falls the last few feet

Likely cause: Lost spring tension or a broken spring on one side of a sectional door.

What we do: We do not let anyone operate it. Springs are replaced and the door is rebalanced and tested through full travel.

Symptom: Operator runs, door does not move

Likely cause: Disconnected trolley, stripped gear, or broken drive chain.

What we do: We reconnect or replace the drive components, reset the limits, and test the safety reversal.

Symptom: High-speed door throws error codes or will not stay closed

Likely cause: Curtain misalignment, sensor fault, or operator control issue.

What we do: We read the fault, check the curtain and safety devices first, and fix the cause rather than just clearing the code.

Common questions

What types of commercial garage doors do you service?
Rolling steel (coiling) doors, commercial sectional doors, and high-speed doors, plus their operators: chain hoists, jackshaft operators, and trolley operators. Our work is service and repair: springs, cables, rollers, guides, slats, operators, and safety devices. If a door is beyond repair, we will say so plainly and explain your options.
Our warehouse door is stuck halfway and the chain hoist will not budge it. What now?
Stop and do not force it. A hoist that will not move usually means a broken or slipped torsion spring, a jammed curtain in the guides, or worn hoist gears, and forcing it can drop the door. We secure the door on arrival, find the actual cause, and give you an upfront price before any work starts. Call our 24/7 emergency line at (615) 616-0612.
How often should a commercial door be serviced?
It depends on daily cycles. A loading dock door that runs dozens of times a day wears far faster than a storage-room door opened weekly. As a rule of thumb, high-cycle doors benefit from a check every few months and lighter-use doors once a year. We look at your actual hardware and usage on the first visit and give you a straight recommendation.
Can you repair our door the same day?
Usually, yes, for common failures: springs, cables, rollers, and operator adjustments are same-day work when parts are on hand. Specialty items like custom slats or specific operator boards may need to be ordered. We diagnose first, tell you exactly what is needed, and give you the price before we start.
Do you install brand-new commercial doors?
Our focus is service and repair of existing commercial doors. If your door truly needs full replacement rather than repair, we will tell you honestly what we found and help you understand the next steps instead of selling you a repair that will not hold.
